Cosmetic Tattoo Eyebrows

Which style Brow Tattoo is best for you?

Semi-permanent makeup can create or redefine the shape of brows, fill in empty or sparse areas, thicken, extend, and even create brows for people who have lost all of their brow hair entirely.

Eyebrow tattooing has evolved, and modern techniques are a lot more sophisticated than traditional eyebrow tattooing. You’ve probably heard of many different terms for eyebrow tattooing; Microblading, Microshading, Feathering, Ombre, Nano… the list goes on!

So what are all of these terms exactly, and which one is going to be the most suitable for you?

 Let’s take a look..

Microblading Eyebrow Tattoo

FEATHERED BROWS

AKA Microblading

Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattoo that uses a hand tool with a blade formed of tiny needles to implant pigment into the surface layer of the dermis (skin) in fine strokes that resemble hair.

Microblading will typically last from 1-3 years and has best results on normal or dry skins. Some oily skin types are not suitable for microblading as the hair-strokes may not heal as defined and crisp as with other skin types. The pigment may not implant at all, or it may blur leaving you with thicker looking hair strokes.

If you are blessed with beautiful oily skin, don’t worry, there are still options for you!

NANO BROWS

AKA Hair-Stroke Brows

Nano brows are hairstrokes created with a tattoo machine and a single fine needle to implant the pigment more consistently in the eyebrow skin.  Hairstrokes can be fine and crisp, or textured. Textured hairstrokes will create more of a 3D fluffy looking brow, with the illusion of volume.

Nano brows are becoming increasingly popular as they create a beautiful and natural realistic looking brow, and are suitable for all skin types. They also tend to last longer than microblading.

Powder/Ombre Eyebrow Tattoo

POWDER BROWS

AKA Microshading

Powder brows are created using a tattoo machine to implant pixels of pigment into the skin that gives a soft powdery makeup look. Results can be customised to be soft and lightly saturated, or more of a solid and defined look.

Perfect for oily or ageing skin types or those with little of their own natural hair. This style also typically lasts longer than microblading.

OMBRE BROWS

Like powder brows, but in a gradient fashion, lighter at the head of the eyebrow and progressively getting darker through the brow to the tail.

Ombre brows are created using a tattoo machine to implant tiny dots of pigment into the skin and are suitable for most skin types, especially oily and mature skins.

COMBO BROWS

AKA Hybrid Brows

Incorporates both methods of hair-strokes and shading to create the most defined look. This technique can be performed by use of a hand tool or with a digital machine, and is a little more defined and filled in than feathered brows, and a bit less dramatic than a powder brow.

This style of brows is pretty much suited for everyone and can be customised to suit the individual.
